CSA 2012
If….. you love fresh vegetables… want them to be grown responsibly without the use of synthetic pesticides… but don’t have the time or the green thumb to grow them yourself…. Then let us grow vegetables for you!!!!
————————————————————————————
CSA shares for 2012 should be earlier and even better than ever with our NEW 30×96 high tunnel !! This will be our 4th season and we learn more each year!
————————————————————————————
Harvest shares will vary in size throughout the growing season. Early shares from mid June to early July will be smaller than mid-season shares when all of the vegetables are in full production. Late season shares will be heavier with the root crops, but may have less variety.
CSA members will begin to receive shares as soon as peas, greens & lettuce are ready and continue throughout the season until the harvest of wintersquash, potatoes and pumpkins. (or from mid June/early July until October). Timing always depends on the weather.
Lettuce, peas and greens should be available earlier this year and we’ve been able to keep a wide variety of veggies going throughout the growing season. Tomatoes and cucumbers should be available earlier in the high tunnel. Fresh lettuce and greens should be available all season through October. Members will receive a share of vegetables each week depending on what’s ready to be harvested. (see Harvest Dates)
A Full ”Share of the Harvest” costs $400.00** (A generous selection of locally grown fresh, healthy produce- enough for an average family or a vegetable enthusiasts including larger amounts of vegetables, greens, lettuces and herbs)
A Partial “Share of the Harvest” costs $250.00** (A smaller selection of fresh vegetables, greens, herbs and lettuces- enough for an average couple or single)
A Senior Citizen Share costs $150 and will be offered for the first time this year. (Smaller portions of fresh vegetables with less lettuce, greens and herbs)
We are also going to offer CSA Work Shares – a CSA share in exchange for labor- contact us if this seems like something you’d like to try! It might be a good way to learn how to grow your own ! OR… there are a wide range of ways to help out our operation – website maintenance….. marketing…. packaging……suggestions welcome!
** Share costs have been increased due to increased costs of fuel. We do expect to be able to extend the harvest of early and later crops with the new high tunnel – a 30ft x 96ft greenhouse !
